Thursday's threshold session includes some faster paced (5k pace) running to introduce some fatigue before the threshold effort. The sessions finishes with some more 5k paced reps. It is extremely important that the threshold effort is done at the correct effort level so that there is something left for the faster paced reps. The session is on the Sainsbury's loop starting at the usual place just past the main entrance.
3 x 3 mins at 5k pace with 3 min jog recovery
1 x 9 mins at threshold effort, 3 mins jog recovery
3 x 3 mins at 5k pace with 3 min jog recovery
There should be a very definite difference in pace and heart rate evident on the Garmin graphs.
