Grand Prix - Strathaven 10k

Before the start of this Grand Prix season and in response to some requests for more local races in the Grand Prix, I had verbally suggested that the Strathaven 10k be added, facilitated by the fact that it is now no longer the same weekend as Brampton. Some of the Harriers (10, I believe) have now entered the Strathaven 10k but the race entries are now closed and a long reserve list has been created. On the basis of Harriers race participation so far this season, I reckon we would have had at least 20 Harriers wishing to do this race. It may be that we can get a few more in via the reserve list but it is unlikely that everyone will get a place. One of the main purposes of the GP is to get everyone out racing, so in this case where the race entries are closed so far ahead of the race date, a solution had to be found.

I am therefore throwing a wild card road race into the season. We will now add the EK 10k in to the Grand Prix, however you can only score points in the EK10k if you did not get an entry in the Strathaven 10k. If you have an entry to Strathaven, then you will not get points in the EK 10k. I am sure all the mathematicians are already considering the impact of this on their GP strategy! Hope this satisfies everyone.
