Race 3 Grand Prix Update and Lanarkshire Road Relays

The men's and women's Grand Prix and scratch championships (men and women) have now been updated following the West District XC Relays. Russell is charging ahead in the men's Grand Prix and Frances is stretching away unchallenged in the women's Grand Prix and scratch championship. Eddie has a slim lead in the men's scratch championship. Thanks to those who are supporting these events.

However, worryingly for the general profile of the club, we are only fielding around half the participants we have had in the previous two years in the opening relays of the season, so come on, let's support the Grand Prix. The GP championships are designed to provide a fair competition for all members but they only work if you do the races. The provisional calendar for the next batch of Grand Prix races is here.

The next Grand Prix race is the Lanarkshire Road Relay at Drumpellier Park Coatbridge this coming Saturday. As previously announced by Malcolm on this blog, the Lanarkshire AAA who host the relay series will require each club to field at least two marshalls for the duration of all the events (children's and senior races), see Malcolm's previous post for details.
