Monday's session is similar to last week's Brancumhall session but on the road. The session is at the Sainsbury's loop and consists of 4 x 1600m at 10k race effort followed by a 2 minute jog recovery. With these sessions, we are targeting a peak at Brampton. The pace is faster than 10 mile race pace but the intention is to make 10k pace comfortable such that 10 mile pace seems even more comfortable and you have the reserves of pace to pick it up in the final few miles. Warm-up via Strathaven Rd, similarly with the cool down.
Thursday will be a longer run.
