Hi Kenny
I hope you are having a nice summer.
In the coming weeks there are two great opportunities for club development here in East Kilbride.
Although you will already have a child protection person at the Harriers, I recommend the following course for anyone who you think would find great value in undertaking this knowledge and responsibility. Protect yourself, the young people you are coaching, and your employer by understanding and following good coaching practice. Learn about child abuse and how to handle situations that cause you concern.
Date Wednesday 17 August 2016 6.00pm – 9.00pm
High Common Road,
East Kilbride, G74 2LP
Venue
Calderglen High School,
More specific and possibly of great use within the club is the upcoming team building course. As a club with strong team morals, entering many teams into national competitions I hope you see some potential in this course. This is an interactive workshop that will help you build cohesion within your team through giving you the understanding of a team’s stages of development, and specific goal setting techniques. This workshop will give you the skills to enhance team cohesion by giving you different tools and techniques.
You will:
- be aware of team cohesion and understand the stages of team development
- develop skills to conduct goal setting with team and athlete
- identify strengths and weaknesses of your team
- gain activities to help build team spirit
