Now that I've got your attention, quite an interesting and useful article for the festive season runner:

ps Calderglen Pub Run provisionally on Monday 28th December.

Oh yes that's got my attention. First thoughts ...
The leg between Auldhouse and Langlands on the Christmas run. However I noticed that they do laps so what about the Christmas Handicap? Fancy dress and 4 beers. Sounds like a winner.
I've done a bit of research . Seems like they exercise to expand their stomachs. We might need to review the handicapping (no names mentioned) although with the lack of running over the past few months I might be a contender.
Stephen, the handicapping would definitely need a complete re-think if beers were introduced! I think our Pub Run is more like the long, slow endurance part of training for a potential beer mile record attempt as it is considerably over distance, over volume and at slower pace.

Alan - thought you'd be an expert at this-did you not take part in this when Glasgow uni used to do this? My old coach was always telling us about this and how great it was!
Alison, yes, I was trying to forget! The Glasgow University Hares & Hounds Chunder Mile at Westerlands Sports Ground (now Morrisons Supermarket at Anniesland). It was always the evening after the University Road Race; so I guess it would be this Saturday evening if it is still on. I suppose that event ended my track running career :-).
