The Magnificent, Madnificent, Mudnificent (delete as appropriate) Seven

Just a short note to highlight the dedication of seven harriers for turning up at Ferniegair last night. While the less hardy of our clubmates were indoors, no doubt curled up in front of the fire with a hot drink and a good book, an indefatigable bunch set out from the main car park in Chatelherault in what can only be described as the wildest evening of the year so far (which is certainly saying something this particular spring) The roll call of honour rings out for Billy Buchanan, Neil Green, Allan McLellan, Jim Holmes, Richard Lawton, Hugh Simpson and myself for battling the elements just to get there and then being so silly as to run during that dreadful storm. The gods were smiling on us however as sunglasses were required for the drive home into the setting sun.

Well done The Magnificent Seven! I thought it strange that the Times from last night were not rolling in thick and fast to the spreadsheet. That weather has now travelled West to Gothenburg and I am contemplating whether a run is sensible. Fortunately I have run 6 days in a row so can justify a rest! Alan
(ps, I can guess who the Steve McQueen and Charles Bronson characters were but who was playing Yul Bryner in the absence of Big John?)

Yul Brynner was alive and well last night and running from the clubhouse at calderglen!
I could say that he had to go on the nightshift and needed a short run and Steve McQeen, Kenny, {in your dreams} could only manage an equally short run. Or else I could tell the truth and say that we both forgot it was Chatelerault and wondered why the clubhouse was so empty at 7.30.
Anyway, we went for a short run and swam the underpasses, dodged the lightning and were deafened by the thunder. So not all of the glory goes to the Magnificent Seven, Dumb and Dumber want some too.

Who could have guessed there were so many film star lookalikes in the Harriers! Apologies if this comment also appears twice.

I don't see an entry appearing any time soon on the IMDb website for the long-awaited combination movie 'The Magnificent Seven meet Dumb and Dumber' - that will go straight to DVD if it's ever made. Alien versus Predator it is not! I'll let Alan reveal who he thinks are shoo-ins for Steve McQueen and Charles Bronson but, of the seven who remembered to turn up at the right location, I'm the closest to Yul Brynner in hairstyle, so will claim that role for myself. I can see big Allan as James Coburn. Kenny and John can decide among themselves which is dumb and which is dumber! Apologies if this comment only appears once.
