CHOOSE A CHALLENGE

Dear Hugh,

My name is Kelly and I work for a charity called Worldwide Cancer Research, based in St. Andrews. I hope you don’t mind me getting in touch!

This year we are offering spaces in the Budapest, Athens and Istanbul marathons; these are open to any runners across the UK who are up for a challenge and would like to support a worthwhile cause. As Calderglen Harriers are based not far from Worldwide Cancer Research, I wanted to get in touch to see whether any of your members might be interested in these opportunities?

Our aim at Worldwide Cancer Research is to fund cancer research projects of the highest possible quality, in order to fulfil our ultimate aim of no life being cut short by cancer. Please feel free to check out our website for more information.

Here is some further information on the marathons we are recruiting for, each organised with our partner travel company Choose a Challenge:

·         Budapest Marathon, Friday 7th – Monday 10th October 2016 – click here for more information

·         Athens Marathon, Friday 11th – Monday 14th November 2016 – click here for more information

·         Istanbul Marathon, Friday 11th – Monday 14th 2016 – click here for more information

The sign-up fee for each marathon is just £95 and the fundraising target is £1200. This amount covers all trip costs involved in the marathon weekend including flights, accommodation and race entry; though a minimum of half the money raised by each person goes directly to Worldwide Cancer Research. Our dedicated Events team is able to provide fantastic fundraising support to help participants towards their target, while Choose a Challenge will be on hand to provide training support right up until race day.

If this opportunity may be of interest to any of your runners or you would like any more information, I would love to hear from you! Please feel free to drop me a reply email or give me a call.

Many thanks,

Kelly
