Thursday's session is the 4-hills in fartlek format with each uphill section being at an increased pace. Whenever your pack reaches an uphill section, pick up the effort to 10 mile race effort. There will be some short, sharp hills (e.g. Market Hill) and some long, sustained effort hills (e.g. Lickprivick). This session is mainly about strength but is an unstructured rather than structured hill rep session. For those doing Brampton, there are sections of that course where it is good to know you have the strength to maintain your effort up the hill whilst others around struggle. Sessions like this therefore give you a psychological as well as physical advantage.
