Brancumhall Cross Country Training Sessions

Postponed for a fortnight. Due to the horrendous, torrential rain today, I see no point ploughing through mud and turning a required quality session into a slog. We will be on the road tonight.

The Bramcumhall cross country sessions start next Monday 26th September and continue at fortnightly intervals until further notice or unless otherwise cancelled here on the blog. Turn up at the club as usual but if you have a change of footwear for running on soft, muddy grass, then bring it (e.g. trail shoes or XC spikes). We will transport the off road shoes down to Brancumhall football pitches for you.

If we postpone for a fortnight then we will not have had any cross country training before the first race on 8th October. Should we not be looking at postponing this by a week and starting the cross country training fortnightly there after? This way we would get two sessions in before the national cross country on 22nd October.

Thanks for your comment Julie. The relays are training sessions in their own right. If we miss one session it's no big deal. There is plenty of grass and trails around EK for those who feel they need extra training. Ideally, most of our miles between club sessions should be on soft ground to promote injury free running. Finally, some people in the club work fortnightly shift patterns and were particularly keen that Brancumhall sessions fell on the weeks they could make.
